  • Count Jokula (Play’n Go)

If you love horror-themed slots, this is undoubtedly the time of year to check out what the top iGaming developers are releasing. Count Jokula is yet another that has hit the online casinos at the perfect time for Halloween. It is a 3×3 video slot offering a medium variance and a couple of features that really add some bite.

As soon as you power up this new title, you’re greeted with the top-draw graphics and animations that Play’n Go is renowned for. There can be no complaints at all regarding this slot’s aesthetics. The audio is also top-notch and features the evil laugh that Dracula is famed for.

As for the features, there are two that can really aid your goal of ending the session with some profit in the bank. The first is a shapeshifting bat symbol that transforms into a wild symbol if it can create a winning combination. The main bonus, however, is called the Respins of Evil. When you land a Joker Wild symbol on the middle reel, it locks in place as you receive a respin. If that it delivers a win, the multiplier bar above the reel increases. You also win another respin. Continue to land wins and you could trigger a maximum win multiplier of 20x. The feature ends when you do not land a win or have won from 25 consecutive respins.

Count Jokula might not offer the bells and whistles of other modern slots, but it does not pretend to. It is a classic slot with a couple of lucrative features thrown in. It looks great on all devices and certainly throws up some nice surprises in terms of those bonuses. If you’re looking for a simple video slot to enjoy on Halloween, you won’t find much better, in my opinion.

Combination Spin Bet Multipliers: There are 8 regular symbols on the reels of Count Jokula. They pay when you land 3 matching symbols on consecutive reels from the 1st reel. The 3-symbol combination for each symbol is as follows: Joker Wild (10x), Vampire Bat (4x), Crucifix (2x), Mug (1.4x), Plum (1x), Berries (0.80x), Lemon (0.60x), Cherries (0.40x).

  • Book of Vampires (Tom Horn Gaming)

Tom Horn Gaming is another developer that has jumped on the Halloween bandwagon with the release of Book of Vampires. Aside from good graphics and animations, this slot will appeal right off the bat due to its bonus features. To start with, your spins begin with just 5 paylines but can then go up to 10, 25, 50, and eventually as many as 243 ways to win. After each consecutive win from a single spin, the number of paylines increases. This is aided by a cascading symbols feature that removes winning symbols so new ones can drop in place.

As for the bonus features, you can look forward to vampire wilds that not only help to create winning combinations, but will also stick around if they don’t. When you land a wild symbol but do not create a win, they remain in place for the next spin.

Of course, like any ‘Book’ slot, it is the free spins feature you will want to trigger. You can do this by landing 3 or more book symbols or via a buy bonus feature that costs 100x your stake. When triggered, you will win 7, 10, 12, or 15 free spins. Before the feature starts, one symbol is chosen at random. When that symbol lands on the reels during free spins, it will expand to fill its reel.

As for the graphics, these are of the quality that we have come to expect from Tom Horn Gaming. Book of Vampires looks fantastic and the animations are top-drawer as well. All in all, this is a great slot that is well worthy of our top 5 this week.

Combination Spin Bet Multipliers:There are 9 regular symbols on the reels of Book of Vampires. They pay when you land 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels from the 1st reel. The 5-symbol combination for each symbol is as follows: Dracula (30x), Coffin (15x), Gauntlet of Blood (10x), Crucifix (5x), Garlic (3x), Ace/King (1.5x), Queen/Jack (1x).

  • Monster Disco XtraHold (Swintt)

Another slot good enough to make our top 5 is Monster Disco XtraHold from Swintt. Again, this is a slot that offers the perfect theme for Halloween. You can expect vampires, ghosts, and a variety of other monsters as you go hunting a top payout of 10,000x your stake.

The first thing you will notice is just how good this new title looks. Swinnt is an up-and-coming iGaming developer, but it is already clear that they know how to deliver titles that look and play fantastic. While the theme is monsters and all things Halloween, it has been done in a cartoony and comedic manner.

As for the features, there is a wild symbol that also acts as a scatter symbol. When you land 3, 4, or 5 of them anywhere in view, you will win 5, 8, or 10 free spins respectively. What makes this free spins round different to others is that the middle three reels spin together as a giant symbol.

The other main feature is the XtraHold feature. This is a straightforward Hold and Win bonus round that gives you 3 respins to collect additional money symbols. Each new symbol resets the respins back to 3. The round ends when you fill up all positions and win a 10,000x payout or when you run out of respins. If the latter, you win the value of the symbols you managed to collect. Finally, there is a Buy Feature that lets you buy either of the features mentioned above. Free spins will cost 89x your stake and the XtraHold feature costs 100x.

All in all, Monster Disco XtraHold has to be one of Swintt’s best video slots to date. It offers brilliant graphics, exciting gameplay, and some enjoyable bonus features.

Combination Spin Bet Multipliers: You will find 8 regular symbols on the reels of the Monster Disco XtraHold video slot. They pay when you line up 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols on an active payline from left to right. The 5-symbol combinations for each symbol are as follows: Dracula (20x), Skeleton (16x), Mummy (12x), Ghost (8x), Ace/King/Queen/Jack (2x).

  • Starlite Fruits™ Mega Moolah (Neon Valley Studios/Microgaming)

If you prefer to play video slots that can offer huge payouts via progressive jackpots, you will love the news that there is yet another Mega Moolah jackpot slot for you to enjoy. Called Starlite Fruits™ Mega Moolah, this slot serves up a bunch of lucrative bonus features, amazing graphics, and the chance of winning one of the legendary Mega Moolah progressive jackpots. If you land the Mega jackpot, that means you could win anything from £2 million or more. In fact, some winners have recorded payouts of over £15 million.

At its core, Starlite Fruits™ is a 5×3 pays both ways video slot with 10-fixed paylines. The theme is what you would class as classic and that means fruits and red sevens as the symbols. As for the features, you can expect a wild symbol that substitutes for other regular symbols and a wild respins feature. You trigger the latter when you land at least 1 wild symbol on the three middle reels. The wild expands to fill the reel and the other reels enjoy a respin. If you land another wild, it turns that reel wild and then you get yet another respin. You can win up to a total of 3 respins.

As for the progressive jackpots, you trigger the chance to win when collecting symbols with diamonds on them. Each time you collect a diamond, there is a chance you can trigger a spin on the progressive jackpot wheel. When you do, you will win one of the Mini, Minor, Major, or Mega progressive jackpots. The latter is seeded with £2 million which is the minimum you can win. Of course, in reality, you could win so much more.

Combination Spin Bet Multipliers: You will find 7 regular symbols on the reels of the Starlite Fruits Mega Moolah video slot. They pay when you line up 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols on an active payline from left to right or right to left. The 5-symbol combinations for each symbol are as follows: Bar (25x), Sevens (12x), Watermelons (6x), Lemons (5x), Oranges (4x), Cherries (2.5x), Berries (2.5x).

  • Lumber Jack (Endorphina)

This is a slot for those who enjoy a walk surrounded by nature, but maybe not for those queasy about chopping down trees. Either way, we need wood, and these lumberjacks are looking to become the best in the world at their trade by taking part in a competition on the reels.

You’ll start your tree-chopping adventure on a 5-reel, 3-row slot with 10 pay lines with the fifth reel locked. That’s a nice low 0.10 per spin for those of you looking for budget spins to earn big wins. It comes with high-end graphics, animations, sound effects and a slow country rock ‘n’ roll guitar-led theme tune.

There are wilds, multipliers, free spins, scatters with multipliers, a gamble feature and a bonus pop to buy your way into the free spins. The main character is Lumber Jack himself and he’s the slot’s highest-paying symbol and the wildcard. If you land him as a wild to substitute other regular symbols in either the base game or free spins round, he will randomly multiply your win by 2x, 3x or 5x. That means you’ll pick up plenty of decent-sized wins in the base game as well as free spins, hence this is a medium variance/volatility slot.

For even bigger wins from single spins, look out for the scatter multiplier, which is also the key to triggering the free spins bonus. 3 or more will award a spin bet multiplier and 12 free goes on the reels. The fifth reel will unlock a barrage of multipliers worth 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x and 20x each. When you land a 3 or 4-symbol combination on a pay line, the multiplier applies to the win. Also, if you prefer not to wait for scatters, then you can simply use the ‘Bonus Pop’ feature and buy your way in for 64x the value of your spin bet.

Lastly, after every win, you have the option to double up via a risk game. Just click on the card icon when it flashes.

Combination Spin Bet Multipliers: Combinations pay when you line up 3 or 4 symbols on a pay line. Payouts are as follows: Lumber Jack (10x or 100x), Digger (4x or 20x), Safety Helmet (4x or 20x), Chainsaw (2x or 8x), Wood Cutter (1.5x or 6x), Axe (1.5x or 6x), A (1x or 4x), K (1x or 4x), Q (0.5x or 2x), J (0.5x or 2x), 10 (0.5x or 2x). The scatter pays (5x or 25x) for landing anywhere in view.
