As legislation across numerous states has allowed online casino gaming, it is no surprise to see that many of the iGaming industry’s biggest developers have made their moves to get in on the action. NetEnt already has a firm footing and is now slowly moving across popular casino content that is already popular in other regulated markets. An example is Codex of Fortune, a slot that NetEnt has just announced will make its US debut.

While players in many iGaming markets around the globe have had access to this 40-payline slot since its release in June 2020, players in the market are only just able to get their hands on it.

NetEnt has made no secret that the US is its primary market. The Evolution-owned company has been live in New Jersey since 2015, Pennsylvania since 2019, and West Virginia since 2020, while the firm was also quick to jump into Michigan when that opened its doors to online casino gaming at the start of 2021.

Each of the other brands is owned by Evolution, so Red Tiger Gaming, Big Time Gaming, Ezugi, and Evolution itself have also pushed into the market. Of course, Evolution is far from the only major player to eye the opportunities that the US holds for the iGaming industry, as the likes of Playtech, Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil, Greentube, and others have all jockeyed for position in this burgeoning market.

Evolution, the live casino provider that also owns massive video slot companies such as Red Tiger Gaming, Big Time Gaming, and of course, NetEnt, has made big strides in various states across America. In fact, as you can see from a previous article, Bonanza Megaways (Big Time Gaming) is currently ranked the most played game at online casinos in the US, while Evolution’s Live Dealer Roulette is 3rd.

A Bit About Codex of Fortune

NetEnt likes to give older video slots a bit of an overhaul, and this is certainly the case here. If you remember ‘Turn Your Fortune’, then you will quickly notice the similarities. This is an overhauled version of that popular title. They both look identical in terms of aesthetics. However, alongside changing the title of this slot, NetEnt has also made some other significant changes. The math’s model has had a few tweaks, while the 10,000x max win is bigger, and there’s a brand new bonus feature.

The action takes place on 5-reels, 4-rows, and 40-fixed paylines as before, but this time it has high volatility compared to the medium variance of its predecessor. It is the Save the Key bonus feature that remains the biggest change, and one that will certainly appeal.

It works alongside the Fortune Respins feature of the original, which gives you respins whenever you land 2 scatter symbols. During the respins, all non-winning symbols are removed while it selects another as a collectable. If that symbol lands on the respin, you get another respin. Collect 5 and the Fortune Wins device to the left of the screen alters to award you an increased win multiplier. Where the Save the Key feature comes into play, is at the end of the Fortune Respins round. You can opt to collect your current win or save the keys for increased potential wins when you’ve triggered the lucrative free spins feature.

NetEnt is widely in numerous markets as one of the best video slots developers. If you’re from the US and want to see what other games might make their way to the states, then you can check out the demo versions of the firm’s games here.
