There seems to be no shortage of iGaming companies committing to charity and helping the community. It is great to see that in the face of so many anti-gambling campaigns that large online casino companies don’t try to keep all their profits. In the latest turn of events IGT’s newsroom announced its commitment to ‘Climate Change Prevention’.
One of the commitments IGT has made is to get involved in the global campaign to reduce gas emissions. This is part of the software provider and casino platform firm’s environment, social and governance project. And as gas emissions are one of the primary causes of global warming, IGT’s corporate social responsibility environmental has flagged this environmental problem as an area to focus its efforts.
Many countries across the globe are fighting carbon emissions already, with carbon credits now big business. Countries have to fight to keep carbon emissions down or buy credit from other countries that do not use their credits due to successfully low carbon emissions. With a company as large as IGT getting involved in the system too, this is a promising sign.
The company has already begun working on new objectives and goals, so its project has a noticeable impact. It is also involved in the new SBTi Net-Zero Criteria. Then, to measure the success of its goals and objectives, IGT will produce a yearly sustainability document and publish it so those interested can keep track. It will be interesting to see how an iGaming company can make a difference.
Senior vice president in marketing for the sustainability project at IGT stated that the company is committed to SBTi. It wants to make an impact that will help the planet so businesses can grow in the future. In other words, with the way humankind is treating earth today, we may not be able to run businesses – and that’s a great point to make – well put Ms Wendy Montgomery (IGT).
Other iGaming Charity Projects: The Microgaming casino developer has a huge commitment towards helping communities and the environment via its Play It Forward project. And Pragmatic Play regularly publishes news reports covering charity donations. Plus, land-based casinos are also in on the act, as the Hippodrome Casino in London, home to PokerStars Live and Evolution Live Dual Play tables, recently dished out thousands of food parcels to the homeless.
