In this year’s 2022 EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards, the big guns were at it again in line again just before the prestigious EGR B2B awards event in London. The event was held at Hurlingham Club, London was the host for the event which saw the likes of Kindred, Betsson, Evoplay, 888, and Kaizen Gaming take down multiple awards. And we are here to give you the lowdown on the most table EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards 2022 Winners!

The event is set up to honour gambling companies for their efforts in the market, responsible gambling, and innovation across multiple verticals. The EGR Marketing & Innovation awards earmark the event specifically as “Recognising the most innovative and creative companies in the online gaming industry”.

Evoplay Entertainment Brace: If you are a video slot player, you are no doubt familiar with EvoPlay. The company came away from the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards 2022 ‘Supplier Marketing Campaign’ and ‘B2B Marketing Campaign’. These accolades add to the firm’s ‘Leader of the Year’ award won in the SBC Awards 2021 event. That 2021 honour went to the brand’s CEO Ivan Kravchuk.

Kindred Double Honours: Kindred pick up the ‘Casino Innovation in Responsible Gambling’ and ‘Sportsbook Innovation in Responsible Gambling’ accolades. The UK-based online gambling giant is most famous and provides software to numerous sports betting and casino platforms in Europe. More recently, the brand hit the brand-new Ontario online casino market in Canada. Kindred is now supporting Ontario AGCO casinos and sportsbooks operating under the iGaming Ontario (iGO) licence. Kindred was also behind the launch of the brand new and exclusive Microgaming Jungle Mega Moolah back in 2020.

Kindred is well-known for its ‘responsible gambling’ activities in the online gambling industry thanks to the brand name appearing in a flurry of other industry awards events. The company won the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ award at the Global Gaming Awards 2019 and the Socially Responsible Casino of the Year award in the SBC 2019 awards, and the year after was the runner up for the same award. Kindred has since come back and won the Global Gaming Awards  ‘Social Responsibility of the Year’ in 2021 and 2022. Of course the company also has numerous ‘operator award too across multiplier industry award events.

888 Out on Top Again: The list of awards 888 has under its belt is astonishing. Too much to recap here. And there is another one to put in the cabinet courtesy of the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards judge panel. Sivan Finn Shalev VP of Strategic Marketing at 888holdings gained the Gibraltar-based firm notoriety in the event by bringing home the ‘Marketer of the year – Individual’ individual award. 888Holdings brand 888Poker also picked up an award for the ‘Poker Marketing Campaign’ and just missed out on the ‘Best Use of a Brand ambassador’ award.

Earlier this year, 888Poker won the Online Poker Operator of the Year at the International Gaming Awards 2022, and the year before won the EGR Operators 2021 ‘Poker Operator of the year’. Not a bad haul for the brand!

Kaizen Gaming Triple Whammy: The company is famous for its eSports, Fantasy Sports and Virtual betting games, as well as its participation in sports betting. It supports 29 providers, connects to over 3,000 video slots, 300 live tables games and has 5 exclusive live casino tables. But enough of that, the big talking point is the firm took down 3 awards. The company also won the EGR Operators Awards 2021 for best ‘Football Operator’ and ‘Best Customer Services Operator’. Moreover, in a more related award, Kaizen took down the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ award at the SBC Awards 2020.

Brand of the Year Award: In my mind, one of the most prestigious awards at this event is the ‘Brand of the Year’. William Hill or Mr Green (seen in our online casino reviews here) would have been my pick from the shortlist. However, Sportsbet IO was deemed by the judges as the worthy winner. Although I am not certain I agree, there is no taking away the spoils of competition from Sportsbet IO as the platform has been truly brilliant for cryptocurrency sports betting fans across the globe.

Why are the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards So Coveted?

The EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards may not be the most glamorous iGaming and sports betting awards event for the average player, but it means the world to the brands involved. After all, online casinos and sports books reply on their marketing to bring in customers, retain memberships, as well as to build brand reputation and image.

Then, of course, the innovation in casino and sports betting entertainment is how we, the players, get to play online via our mobile or desktop devices. Innovation is far-reaching throughout the online gambling industry. For example, it can begin with the design of a casino game. Then, it moves onto a delivery system that online casinos pull the game from to display in their casino. And you have probably guessed the next step. That step is us, the players, accessing the game at its final destination – our desktop and mobile devices.

As for sports betting. Well, I am a fan! The innovation and marketing that goes into the odds calculations, especially live betting, is astounding. An entire market is operating in sync with 100s of live sports as well as up-and-coming games. All of this requires coordination across multiple markets. This is not to mention having a keen eye on the latest sports news. Just a single report will instigate a global change in odds in a particular market. It’s certainly impressive and is akin to the constantly changing market prices in the global stocks and shares financial markets.
