It has been a big week of awards for the iGaming industry, with both the 2022 Global Gaming Awards, and now the 2022 IGA (International Gaming Awards) announcing their winners. We have already given you a breakdown of all the 2022 Global Gaming Awards winners here, including NetEnt, LeoVegas, and IGT. However, but now it’s time to see who won an IGA award this year!

Once again held at the plush Savoy Hotel in the UK’s capital on Monday the 11th of April, this event attracted senior representatives from some of the biggest names in the iGaming, eSports, and sports betting industries. Each of these brands was present to witness the winners of 33 categories revealed.

For the iGaming industry, the most notable categories included ‘Slot Provider of the Year’, ‘RNG Casino Supplier of the Year’, ‘Game of the Year’, ‘Rising Star of the Year’, ‘Live Casino of the Year’, ‘Online Gaming Operator of the Year’, and ‘Slots Operator of the Year’.

Those lucky enough to have tickets could enter the venue at 18:30 on Monday night and would have spent the evening enjoying the awards, dinner, entertainment, and drinks until the event finished at 01:00.

2021 Winners: At the 2021 IGA Awards, notable names such as Yggdrasil, Pragmatic Play, SOFTSWISS, Betconstruct, Relax Gaming, and Microgaming went home with some awards. You can see who won awards in that event via the IGA 2021 award winners news report.

Quickspin Deservedly Wins the 2022 Slot Provider of the Year at the 2022 IGA Awards

To be honest, it was not a surprise to learn that Quickspin had finally earned recognition for the consistent quality of their iGaming titles. You only have to look at the superb Sakura Fortune II, the sequel to the firm’s flagship title, to know how good this brand is. Plus, rather than churning out title after title, Quickspin focuses on delivering one or two slots of sublime quality each month. Winning the award was never a given for Quickspin, however. The firm had strong competition from some impressive iGaming brands. Nominated for this award alongside Quickspin were Booming Games, CT Gaming, Gameburger Studios, Just For The Win, Pragmatic Play, Push Gaming, SimplePlay, Tom Horn Gaming, and last year’s winner, Yggdrasil.

Yggdrasil, Just For The Win, Pragmatic Play, LeoVegas, Among the Other Notable Award Winners!

Three of the brands nominated for the above Slot Provider of the Year Award were not to be left disappointed at the 2022 IGA Awards as they picked up awards in other categories.

  • Yggdrasil (RNG Supplier of the Year): In recent years, Yggdrasil has racked up the nominations and awards at the major industry award ceremonies. Already a winner of the 2022 EGR Nordics ‘Casino Provider of the Year’ this year, the firm also won the 2021 IGA ‘Slot Provider of the Year’ last year while also picking up nominations at the 2021 SBC Awards.
  • Just For The Win (Game of the Year – Scarab Kingdom): Just For The Win, one of Microgaming’s independent studios, has been pushing itself further into consideration for awards each year. It missed out on the big one above but will take great pride that Scarab Kingdom was voted the best new game of the year. This award adds to the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ award it picked up at the 2021 IGA Awards.
  • Pragmatic Play (Live Casino of the Year): Does an industry event go by without Pragmatic Play winning something? It does not seem like it, especially in recent years. The developer picked up three awards at the SAGSE Buenos Aires Expo, the ‘Casino Slots Developer of the Year’ at the 2021 SBC Awards, and is now the 2022 IGA ‘Live Casino of the Year’.

While the biggest news is the epic win for Quickspin (read the full Quickspin software provider guide here) a slots brand we have a full and in-depth guide of, and the winners mentioned above, there were plenty of other notable winners. This included LeoVegas who scooped yet another award for its excellent online casino product, OnAir Entertainment, IGT, and William Hill.
