2022 Global Gaming Awards Asia Nominations – Pragmatic Play up for an Award!

Following on from the 2022 Global Gaming Awards in both London and Vegas, the prestigious casino gambling awards ceremony is now making its way to Asia. It will recognise and award the best land-based and online operators and suppliers that currently operate across the Asian continent.

Well, we can tell you that the shortlist has now been drawn up and the nominees for the awards revealed. Among the leading names in the ‘online categories’ include BetConstruct, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, and SA Gaming. There are nine award categories altogether, including the Digital Supplier of the Year and Digital Operator of the Year. The remaining categories focus on the land-based casino industry within Asia.

The ceremony (this year held virtually) will take place on the 22nd of August with over 30 judges set to cast their votes on the winners. Those judges all hold executive positions in the gambling industry in Asia at companies including BetConstruct, TCSJOHNHUXLEY, iGAMIX, Light & Wonder, and Jade Entertainment.

The Global Gaming Awards has run for nine years and hosts three events a year. Each event is for a particular region and the Europe and North American Awards have already taken place earlier in the year. The Asia leg of the awards will be the last Global Gaming Awards event of 2022 as attention will now shift to the ceremony’s planned for 2023.

The iGaming Brands in the Running for the 2022 Global Gaming Awards Asia

As mentioned, there are just two categories that focus on the online gaming scene across Asia. We have provided the full list for each at the end of this post, but we can tell you of a number of iGaming brands that have made the shortlist.

A strong favourite for the Digital Supplier of the Year Award has to be Pragmatic Play. This iGaming development company has won a host of awards in recent years, so it is difficult to bet against them landing yet another. Pragmatic Play won the 2022 Live Casino Supplier of the Year at the IGA Awards, three awards at the 2022 SAGSE Buenos Aires Expo, and was the recipient of the Casino Slots Developer of the Year at the 2021 SBC Awards. Of course, with strong competition, it will not be a walk in the park despite those recent accolades. Other brands up for that award include Evolution, the undisputed king of live casino games and the likes of SA gaming, Digitain, and SportsRadar.

The other ‘online’ award focuses on the online operators that supply players in Asia with quality casino and sports betting platforms. The big names nominated for this award include Bet365, Solaire Online Casino, and Macau slot.

Of the seven other categories, these all focus on the land-based gambling industry on the continent. Again, there are supplier and operator awards, while there are also awards for the best table game, best executive, and best casino product, among others.
