In our Jackpot Report Week 27, we give you the lowdown on the biggest jackpots and tell you about a recent £3.5 million Mega Moolah win. (Image from megamoolah.microgaming.com)
It has only been three weeks since the last Mega Moolah jackpot was paid out but already the world’s most popular progressive jackpot has once again gone. This time a lucky punter took home a modest (in comparison to the average Mega Moolah payout) £3,576,131. It is unclear where this happened or even on which jackpot slot, but somebody somewhere is a very happy and wealthy person!
That is twice in a row that the Mega Moolah has paid out well below its average of over £8 million, but we doubt the winner is overly concerned about that. The win happened five days ago and afterwards; it reset back to its £1 million seed. As for the other major jackpots we track as part of this weekly report, they all still stand, although obviously a bit bigger than they were previously.
Microgaming’s WowPot is still the biggest going with a whopping jackpot that now stands at over £13 million. It is now larger than the biggest jackpot that has been paid so far in 2022. That was the £12,792,841 paid out from the Mega Moolah back in May. If it continues to grow, it could contest the biggest win of 2021, £19,429,692.
Fact: The Mega Moolah progressive jackpot network started out with just the Mega Moolah slot. However, over the years, that network has grown to contain nine slots that can contribute to, and win, the four progressive jackpots offered.
Jackpot Giant Remains After 1,000 Days!
If there is one progressive jackpot that is well past its due date, it has to be Jackpot Giant from Playtech. This jackpot has grown to over €6.5 million, but has not paid out for close to three years. The cynics out there might even claim there is a bug or something, especially as, on average, it had previously paid out every 159 days. Still, it has to go at some point and whoever manages it will be a very lucky person indeed.
In our table below, we have provided the current status of the 10 biggest jackpot slots and networks. We have listed their current size, the average payout frequency, and the average jackpot sum. Using that information, we then give you an indicator of whether it is worth playing right now. However, as you have seen with the two recent Mega Moolah wins, it is impossible to predict when any jackpot will pay. They can literally go at any time!
Aside from the big two right now, the next best option is to enjoy a few spins in the hope of winning the jackpots on Microgaming’s King Cashalot and Major Millions jackpot slots.

How progressive jackpots work: Whenever a player plays on a progressive jackpot slot machine, a percentage of each stake is placed into a shared network jackpot. This means that any player playing this slot around the world has a chance to win that shared jackpot. Still unclear? Then check out our casino jackpots page to learn more.
