The last two weeks have seen plenty of action in top-level management positions across the sports betting and iGaming niches.
Software providers Novomatic, Yggdrasil, and Blueprint Gaming all announced new positions filled. And over in Canada’s Ontario iGaming and sports betting market, there were new appointments in the overall provincial (AGCO) and the iGaming licensing authorities.
Also, in Canada, the Saskatchewan province’s lotteries and gaming introduced a new CEO.
In the UK GamCare, an organisation specialising in responsible gambling, particularly self-exclusion registers in the UK, announced its new CEO.

Canadian Gambling Markets – New Appointments
The country has one of the world’s healthiest iGaming and sports betting markets. Canada also has a well-set-up system with local provinces and territories governing gambling activities.
Here’s what has been happening across Canada’s gambling industry job market:
- Karin Schnarr, New CEO at AGCO: The Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario has a new CEO and registrar. Dr. Karin Schnarr will take on the role. Her consulting experience from the public and private sectors and her noteworthy Wilfrid Laurier University position of Associate Professor of Strategic Management will be undoubtedly helpful as she navigates the province’s online and offline gambling industry.
- Heidi Reinhart, iGaming Ontario’s New Chair: The section of the AGCO that issues licensing and registration for online gambling companies is iGaming Ontario. In a recent announcement, the organisation announced its new interim chair, Heidi Reinhart, following Lalit Aggarwal’s decision to step down.
- Susan Flett, new CEO at LGS: The Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan licensing authority, made a mid-August announcement confirming Susan Flett as the new president and CEO.

The new appointment of D’Arcy Myers as interim CEO will fill the void left by Anna Hemmings, who served as GamCare’s CEO for 5 years. His performance will likely depend on whether he will stay in the position permanently. Myers already has experience working in the field of independent charity consultancy. He also boasts solid performances in strategic development.
Software Providers – CEOs, CFO and MD positions filled!
Usually, one of the most dominant sections in this bi-weekly report is the software provider’s section as there are 1,000s game developers supplying operators and aggregator platforms in the iGaming scene.
Here’s what has been happening with top-exec positions at some of the top casino gaming companies:
- Karin den Dunnen, New Novomatic CFO: Jos van den Borne has been replaced as CFO at the Novomatic Netherlands branch. His successor is Karin den Dunnen.
- Andy Tipple, New Blueprint MD: Merkur’s Blueprint Operations announced Andy Tipple as its new MD as he steps up from Merkur Slot’s Head of Product position. Also, David Purvis has moved into a Group Strategic Advisor role.
- James Curwen, New Yggdrasil CEO: Björn Krantz has handed over the Yggdrasil CEO position to James Curwen, who will begin on 1 October 2023.

- Tabcorp (New Zealand): After Mark Stewart vacates his Tabcorp chair position, the company named Anna Stove to fill the position for a temporary time period until the company finds a permanent replacement.
