SBC Awards North America 2022 Winners Announced – US brand comes out on top

The SBC Awards North America awards took place with 600 guests attending the event held at Pier Sixty, Manhattan, New York. The actual date of the event was 14 July from 7 pm to 1 am, however, the winners were only just announced.

Most of the awards went to brands operating in the US and Canadian Ontario iGaming markets. However, there were also some standout names that operate in the UK. Playtech and Wazdan earned ‘Silver’ for ‘Platform Provider of the Year’ and ‘Rising Star in Casino’ of the year, respectively.

Plus, UK firm Entain, formerly GVC Holdings and operates in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and other US iGaming and sports betting markets, wins yet another award for its brilliance in social responsibility when it comes to online gambling.

Furthermore, White Hat Gaming, which also operates 21 Casino reviewed here, rather impressively took down 2 awards. The ‘Industry Innovation of the Year’ and ‘Platform Provider of the Year’ honours.

Other notable names were the land-based, social casino, and now real money online video slot developer Design Works Gaming came up with trumps in a market it currently dominates — Social Gaming. And IGT as well as Aristocrat were in the awards for their brilliance in land-based casino markets. Both brands also offer online slots!

Supplier Awards – Wazdan, Playtech & White Hat Gaming

A big shout out to the Wazdan software provider for picking up a further awards recognition in 2022. The software developer came in second place, adding another rising star award as a new entrant. This time in the US iGaming market where Wazdan’s exciting video slot portfolio earned the brand ‘Silver’ in the ‘Rising Star In Casino’ award at the SBC Awards North America 2022. The honour pins onto recent accolades, namely the ‘Rising Star In Nordic Online Casino Technology (B2b)’ and ‘Best Slots Provider In The Baltics (B2b)’ both plucked out of the recent Scandinavian Gaming Awards (BSG Awards) 2022.

White Hat Gaming Vs Playtech: Two top aggregators with formidable online casino platforms came head to head. This time White Hat Gaming came out on top with Playtech taking silver. This was a tough category with the likes of BetConstruct, GAN, Gaming Innovation Group, Shape Games, and more all competition.

Operator Awards – Design Works Games (DWG)

The operator awards go out to companies running online sports books, casinos, poker rooms, lottery, social casinos and more. There was no surprise at seeing Design Works Games (DWG) pick up its Social Gaming Operator award, the company has thousands of games across 5 social casino, but it is also in the real money iGaming scene too as reported in this week’s news already. Last week DWG and 888Casino made a deal for the software provider’s game to showcase as MGA and UKGC 888 casinos. And not long before that, DWG also made a deal with Mr Green Casino, which is under the William Hill International brand owned by 888 Holdings.

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) Close: RSI picked up a trio of silvers in the ‘operators’ category. Although it’s a great achievement, there will certainly a little disappointment the brand didn’t pick up a first place honour. However, in the same city in April this year at the EGR North America awards 2022, RSI won the ‘Customer Services Operator’, ‘Social Gaming Operator’ and ‘Operator’ of the year awards.

Payment Awards – Everi, Paysafe, Trustly, Fiserve & Veriff

Trustly is one of the most widely respected and used online casino payment providers in the business in MGA UKGC, and Curacao eGaming licenced online casinos. And evidentially, the payment provider is also doing very well in the North American iGaming and sports betting markets. Although the company came away with silver in the ‘Payment Innovation of the Year’ it was also a finalist in the ‘Payment Solution of the Year’ category too.

Turstly Awards: The popular online casino payment provider won the Best Payment Service Provider In The Nordics at the recent Scandinavian Gaming Awards (BSG Awards) 2022, and it was last year’s SBC Awards 2021 (Europe) ‘Payment Solution of the Year’. It also won the Global Gaming Awards 2022 ‘Payment Solution of the Year’ beating Paysafe, which as you will see below pipped Trustly to the win in this year’s SBC Awards North America 2022.

SBC Awards North America 2022 – Operator & Supplier Awards

There were just two awards in the Operator & Supplier awards category, and both were the traditional awards seen across SBC events held in other events held globally. Draftkings added to its ‘Sportsbook of the year’ award, and Fanduel added to its silver award for the ‘Sportsbook’ of the year award in this category.
