Play’n Go Boosted by Two New iGaming Licenses
Play’n GO is on the move once again as we have news of the leading iGaming software developer acquiring licenses from the Spanish and Swedish markets.
The Spanish operating license allows the company to self-certify its games and provide them to Spanish customers on the day of release. This is a significant step in the company’s growth strategy, aimed at expanding its presence and increasing market share in Spain, following recent license acquisitions in the US and Europe. The license will allow Play’n GO to provide an exceptional gaming experience to Spanish players and help operators grow their businesses by engaging and retaining players with top-quality content.
The firm also secured a B2B supplier license in Sweden, its home market. This license allows the company to continue supplying its portfolio of over 300 premium games, including popular titles like Book of Dead, Legion Gold, and Reactoonz, to the Swedish market. The acquisition of the license demonstrates Play’n GO’s continued commitment to the European market, and its home country in particular. This is the third license acquisition for the company in 2023, following the above Spanish license and another in the US iGaming state of Connecticut.
Where to play Play’n Go casino games? You play PlaynGO games at UKGC casinos using GBP or USD. Also, Curacao and MGA online casinos use USD, EUR, ZAR, INR, AUD, NZD, or cryptocurrency. Could the Netherlands have Tighter Betting Limits Come the End of 2023?
The Netherlands legalised online gambling in October 2021 and since then, the market has grown significantly, with 22 operators granted licenses by the country’s regulator. However, the Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA) has warned that tighter restrictions could be introduced by the end of 2023, including player limits.
While such limits have proven effective in other countries, it is also possible that this could lead to an increase in the grey market for online casinos, as some players may opt to gamble at less regulated or unregulated sites. This is a concern, as these casinos do not have player limits or other requirements, such as verifications, and may offer more attractive bonuses to entice players to spend more money.
The potential rise in the grey market could undermine efforts to channel players to legal operators, which is the objective of the Remote Games of Chance Act. As the Netherlands continues to refine its online gambling regulations, it remains to be seen how effective player limits will be in protecting consumers and preventing the growth of the grey market.
