Get the full International Gaming Awards 2023 Shortlists (IGA) – top casino & sports betting online gambling firms are in the running!! (Images courtesy of gaming-awards.com)
It’s just a 30-day wait until we get our first taste of an iGaming awards event this year. In fact, oddly enough, there are 2 major online gambling ceremonies on the same day in the same city.
The International Gaming Awards (IGA 2023) will take place on 6 February in the West End of London at the Savoy Hotel.
Meanwhile, just a couple of tube stops away on the London Underground the Global Gaming Awards (GGA 2023) will be hosted by the award-winning Hippodrome Casino, in London’s famed West End location Leicester Square (a stone’s throw away from my favourite pub the Porcupine – great Camden Pale Ale!).
February Provides 4 Days of iGaming Events in London
To make things a little more interesting, ICE London 2023 will take place the day after the IGA and GGA awards, which are 1-day affairs splitting up the teams of suppliers and operators nominated for awards in both – there has to be someone there to pick the award!
The next day, (7 February) they can regroup and head over to ICE 2023 as one team. That is a 3-day event that will reveal the latest upcoming tech, games and more being introduced into the fields of iGaming and sports betting though the year.
Following on from the early February rush courtesy of the IGA, GGA, and ICE, there will be a 2-week gap before the EGR Nordics Awards 2023 event concludes an incredible whammy of iGaming award ceremonies for the month. However, there will still be room for the EGR Power Summit event to end the month, but there are no awards dished out in this online gambling meet up.
You can also catch up with the entire 2023 iGaming and sports betting events calendar via our New Year’s Eve news report – iGaming events to look forward to in 2023. You’ll find upcoming events for the year including SPiCE India as well as SBC and EGR awards throughout the year.
Changes to the IGA 2023 Awards Lists – 33 Accolades Up for Grabs
There have been a few changes to this year’s International Gaming Awards 2023 compared to last year, but there are still 33 awards in total despite the alterations.
The one I like the most, and I am sure you will too is the ‘Game of the Year’ award has been split into 2 awards. For us players, that means we get 2 new games of the year. There’s nothing like an iGaming awards event to give us a heads up on what the judges, who are industry experts, feel the best games are right now.
New Award Categories:
- Crypto Company of the Year – with crypto’s rising demand in online gambling, this a brand new IGA 2023 awards category
- Charitable Community Award – last year there was one for suppliers and another operators. This year, there is a single Charitable Community Award
- Game of the Year (Games Studio Category) – split from ‘Game of the Year’ into ‘studio’ and ‘supplier/operator’
- Game of the Year (Multi-Channel supplier/Operator) – as above
- Innovation in Poker Award: This looks like it will replace the ‘Online Poker Operator of the Year’ award
A blast from the past: Rewind back to last year’s winners via our 2022 IGA Award Winners news report. Winners include Quickspin and Just For The Win (Scarab Kingdom – Game of the Year), Rootz (operator of Wildz and Wheelz casinos), plus via that report you can rewind back to the IGA 2021 winners too!
