The rise of crypto gambling around the world has increased five-fold in the past couple of years, according to two of the industry’s pioneers.

SOFTSWISS and CoinsPaid have recently come out to share their thoughts on the continued growth of crypto gambling, and how it continues to have a major effect on the iGaming industry as a whole.

The thoughts of the two company’s were released via a press release from SOFTSWISS. It contained the insights of both Max Krupyshev, the CEO of CoinsPaid, and the COO of SOFTSWISS, Andrey Starovoitov. CoinsPaid is the UK’s leading cryptocurrency payment processing gateway, and Krupyshev was quick to point out the continued growth of the crypto gambling industry. Since 2019, this industry has experienced sustained growth, but as he points out, it is the last couple of years where growth has really started to snowball.

The number of transactions processed via our services has been steadily increasing since 2019, but in 2020 we experienced a five-time growth in volumes. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the demand for crypto payment solutions has been rising, and we do not see this backing down now.

While this increase coincides with the pandemic, it is clear that cryptocurrencies are likely to have a bigger say in the iGaming industry in the next few years. SOFTSWISS, the iGaming industry’s leading aggregator platform, delved deeper into the conversation by analysing the cryptocurrencies most used by crypto-gamers. The company, which has just undergone rebranding, revealed that Bitcoin (BTC) is still the outright favourite among casino players. That cryptocurrency, the worlds most well-known and most utilised, accounts for 78.5% of the market penetration of digital coins. The closest crypto to BTC in the iGaming industry is Ethereum (ETH) on 9%.

As the adoption of cryptocurrencies continues, it makes perfect sense that it will become a payment method of choice among fans of online casino games. Cryptocurrencies offer anonymity not seen from any other type of payment, lower transaction fees, and instant payments. There are a plethora of online casinos that already accept popular cryptocurrencies, and that number is only going to increase.

SOFTSWISS has played a big part in the rise of crypto gambling. Powered by its own online casino platform, the firm was the first to launch a cryptocurrency casino. Players could sign up, deposit and withdraw using popular cryptos such as BTC and ETH, and play casino games including video slots and virtual table games.
