New Entain and Playtech Gameshow – The Chase Live

This is good news for live casino game show players because Playtech online casinos are about to feature a new game show called The Chase.

Unlike the familiar ‘Wheel of Fortune’, ‘The Chase’ is a unique TV-style game show from the UK’s national ITV channel. It offers a fresh and exciting gaming experience, making it a standout in the world of live casino game shows.

ITV is one of the five national channels for those not from the UK, alongside BBC One, BBC Two, Channel 4, and Channel 5. However, depending on the region of the UK you are in, these can change slightly.

If you flick through any of these channels, especially during the day, several game shows are being aired. In conjunction with ITV and Entain, Playtech has decided that The Chase TV game show is worthy of becoming a live casino game.

With a daily viewership of 4 million, ‘The Chase’ has already captured the hearts of many Brits. Playtech and Entain are banking on this popularity, hoping to attract some viewers to play the game themselves when it’s released in UK online casinos.

On the official Chase gameshow news release on the Entain website Steve Watling, SVP Gaming, ITV Studios Global Partnerships, commented: “The Chase Live has been our most anticipated game release in 2024. We have been working with Entain and Playtech teams for many months to bring one of the UK’s most successful and popular gameshow brands to the live casino space.”

As I am not a member of any of the online casinos currently featuring The Chase gameshow and there don’t appear to be any YouTube or Twitch videos featuring the live casino version of the game just yet, I’ve left two bullet points that sums up the game. Where Will the New Entain, ITV and Playtech Gameshow Launch?

The game will is available at online casinos the UK, Canada, Belgium, and Brazil. However, I assume the Canadian version will be available under the AGCO, while the game show itself is being streamed from Playtech’s Riga studio.

I say this because I don’t see any mention of Chase becoming a global live casino game. This would mean picking up Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and Curacao (CeG) licensing. I could be wrong because I have seen games announced by Playtech for the UK and Canada and then end up on MGA and Curacao online casinos, so we’ll have to wait and see.

As for launch dates, the news report says it has ‘launched’ the gameshow (past tense), so I looked around the new games sections of online casinos in Canada and the UK. There is no such luck finding the game available at the casinos we review, like William Hill and LeoVegas.

However, Ladbrokes, Coral PartyCasino and Gala Casino appear to have the game available. There are no surprises here as these platforms operate under the Entain company umbrella.

What the news by Entain doesn’t explain is how the Chase Gameshow works. The ITV version of the game is in the accompanying video to the left (for desktop readers and below for mobile readers). I don’t watch this gameshow, so if you are like me, then the video gives you a pretty good idea of what it is all about.

Bradley Walsh hosts The Chase, a quiz show on the British television channel ITV. The game involves four contestants vs a specialist quizzer, called the Chaser, and is broken down into a number of rounds.

• Cash Builder: each player gets a minute to answer as many general knowledge questions as they can, a grand £1,000 for every answer they get right.
• Head-to-Head: The contestants play against the Chaser one at a time. They can choose to play for the amount of money won in the Cash Builder, more money, or less than that, offered by the Chaser. Correct answers move closer home, and wrong answers give the Chaser a chance to move ahead. The aim is to reach home without the Chaser catching you in order to win the money for your team.
• The Final Chase: Every member of the panel answers as many questions as possible in two minutes to set a target for the Chaser, who has two minutes to match that number of correct answers; if the Chaser fails, the contestants bank the money, but if the Chaser succeeds the contestants leave with nothing.

Where and when can I watch The Chase? The Chase game show airs on ITV at 5:00 PM on weekdays in the UK—the show’s also simulcast on ITV1 +1 at 6:00 PM the same day. ITV also has an on-demand viewing website here on the ITVX website. Obviously, this is only available to UK citizens.
