What is your opinion on banning all Greyhound Racing in New Zealand?

Good. So they should ban it. They had their chance to bring the industry up to standard, and they blew it. If they cannot afford to give these dogs a good life, then why should they have a good life living off the profits of the misery of the animals? They should ban it in the UK, too.

Yeah it just isn't sport anymore. I am up for anything that means protecting animals. If the government says the dogs are not treated properly then ban it. Simple as that.

Good! I lived in the East End, and I knew dog owners from the Walthamstow tracks. If no one adopts the dog or the veterinary bills are too expensive, I will leave the rest to your imagination. The people who work in the industry become immune to the fact that dogs have lives. Not all greyhound dog owners are bad, but there's more bad than good. I agree with @zealy - we should ban it in the UK, too.

Fair enough. Get it gone if some of the dogs are suffering. A few people I know work in the industry will have to look for a new job, but those tracks pay them peanuts to work there so no biggie.

Sounds good to me. Dogs here in SA are treated very poorly but I doubt any rules will change.

@jimdon My grandfather (RIP) used to adopt greyhounds because of this. Lived in East Ham. It's disgusting how they're treated.
