On Monday afternoon, the 2021 Global Gaming Awards Las Vegas announced the new winners of 14  awards aimed at companies working within the gambling industry in the Americas.

The illustrious winners of each category have now been published on the Global Gaming Awards website and we will also give you a summary of events at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.

Over 100 judges were tasked with voting on the company’s products and services that were deemed worthy of nomination. Once the votes were in, they were adjudicated by the KPMG before being announced on Monday afternoon.

The event featured huge industry names such as Evolution, Aristocrat, BetMGM, NetEnt, Playtech, BetConstruct, and IGT who were each hoping to receive recognition for their efforts in the North American and LATAM gambling industries. Awards were handed out across numerous sectors within both the digital and land-based casino industries.

A ticket-only event, the doors first opened at the Sands Expo at 12:15 pm on Monday, and hundreds of industry figures made their way to their seats. The ceremony officially started at 12:30 pm and only lasted 40 minutes, but it would have been a special occasion nonetheless, especially for those fortunate enough to receive awards.

As for those unable to attend the event in person, they were able to watch a live stream of the action via the Global Gaming Awards website. Plus, highlight videos were posted on social media platforms, including Twitter.

Aristocrat the Big Winner on the Day with 3 Awards!

An Australian firm, Aristocrat, is a massive name in the land-based industry but is also hugely popular at Australian online casinos due to the development of highly entertaining video slots.

However, it was the company’s excellence in the land-based gaming sector that brought awards this time around. It picked up the Slot of the Year Award for the Buffalo Link slot machine, which is housed in the firm’s new MarsX™ Portrait cabinet. Launched in March this year, the slot has been a revelation at land-based casinos all across America due to its single-site linked progressive jackpot, innovative Hold & Spin™ mechanic, and entertaining gameplay.

Arguably more impressive, Aristocrat also picked up the Land-Based Industry Supplier of the Year for the second year in a row, confirming the firm’s big standing in the land-based casino industry. As the icing on the cake, Aristocrat made it a hat-trick of awards when it was announced the winner of the Land-Based Product of the Year for its ‘In The Clear’ solution.

Other Big Names Pick Up Illustrious Awards

We have provided the full list of awards and winners to the right, but we thought we would take a closer look at some of the companies in the iGaming industry that took down awards. Many big names were nominated but as always, there can only be one winner of each industry award. The three iGaming awards on the night were the Industry Provider of the Year, Digital Operator of the Year, and Digital Product of the Year.

There were no surprises as to the winner of the first of those awards. Evolution is no stranger to awards, having won the EGR B2B Live Casino Supplier of the Year Award for 12 straight years. The firm also won the Online Casino Supplier Award at the European-facing Global Gaming Awards in London back in June. Well, now the company can add the Digital Industry Supplier of the Year Award at the 2021 Global Gaming Awards in Las Vegas! The firm was up against many other iGaming powerhouses, including IGT, Bally’s Interactive, BetConstruct, Scientific Games, Greentube, Kambi, and Playtech.

As for the Digital Operator of the Year, this went to BetMGM, which operates an online sportsbook and casino across numerous states in the US. The online gambling industry has boomed in recent years, and the product offered by BetMGM was considered the best according to those who voted.

This left just the Digital Product of the Year Award, which also had some big brands among the nominations. This award went to GeoComply for its IDComply API, an all in one KYC and AML solution that streamlines the KYC and AML processes at online betting entities. Among the nominees for this award were BetConstruct, Scientific Games, IGT, and, most notably, NetEnt for the development of its excellent Divine Fortune Megaways slot.
