The new online slot limits for British players are on the verge of parliamentary approval according to the UKGC report - Online slots stake limit guidance by the UKGC:

  • Max Bet Allowed for UK citizens aged 24 or under: £2.00 per spin
  • Max Bet Allowed for UK citizens aged 25 or over: £5.00 per spin

Timeline and Info until enforcement:

  1. The secondary legislation (SI) for this measure was laid in Parliament on 10 December 2024.
  2. Legislation needs to be debated and approved by both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
  3. Debates are usually scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after the legislation is laid, but this is not guaranteed.
  4. From the day the legislation is made, operators will have an implementation period of 6 weeks to implement the new rules.
  5. There are no updates on when the stake limits will come into place - our estimation is by the end of March 2025.

No problem for me. I rarely spin for more than a quid a spin when I play down the pub. If I play online I bet about 20p to 50p a spin depending on how much money I got left in my account. If I start running out I can go to 10p slots. I dont know anyone who bets £5 a spin at the pub or online. Must some rich folk out there not happy about it I'm sure.

Same as you, @asmitty. I don't do spin bets that high anyway, so I'm not really bothered. I wonder how it affects streamers, though, who pretend they bet 100s per spin. They can't BS us anymore, which is good.

They haven't affected me in the slightest. I don't do £5 spin bets. Crazy amounts that is!

Who bets more than £5  a spin? I am sure there are some super wealthy people that do. No doubt. If I had the money to burn I know I would. I think the limit must be affecting some players.

@roulette101 Obviously converting from my own currency, but I don't think 5 GBP per spin is all that high. 500 GBP sessions with 100 at 5 a pop. I could see people doing that more often than you may think. I've spent more than that in a session and know many others that do.

Wish I was rich enough to bet £5 a spin lol. Won't have any effect me. Max £1 at the pub and about £0.25 to £0.40 when playing fruties online.
