@zealy Many of us have been there before. Playing sensibly is the way.
It does bring me to a new question, like a hypothetical one, seeing as we talking about friends.
I guess its off topic for the thread, but here goes anyway.
What advice would you give to someone new to gambling?
Maybe a friend or someone you knows says they want to try online casinos, poker, or sportsbooks and ask you about it. What would you say (apart from, oh sign up via my link lol)?
Stick to blackjack or baccarat. Do not bother with welcome bonuses aside from cashback. Don't sign up to dodgy sites.
Simple. Just wish I was told that when I first started.

Firm advice but i feel many people are drawn to slots. Especially if they are new to online casinos and dont know how to play blackjack and other games.

That is true. My main advice would be to hammer home to them the importance of bankroll management. So many new players burn through their bankrolls playing at stakes that are far too high. Then, when they lose, the demons tempt them into topping up with a new deposit.
@bennyz Thing is with blackjack, they'd need to learn basic strategy as otherwise they aint getting anywhere near the RTP they could.
Exactly. So, Baccarat is probably a good alternative as it's easy and the RTP is decent. Just bet on the banker every time, what could go wrong?

Good call, or just tell them to find a different hobby lol, this one aint so good.

Wish someone told me that way back when.
I'm at the point now where KYC should be mandatory when creating an account. Gets it out of the way, so saves players hassle later on, but also prevents kids from signing up and playing - even if they will struggle to get their money when it comes to cashing out. The fact they're able to even play is potentially creating a problem gambler in their youth.

I wish someone just told me not to bother with it. Stick to the lottery and invest your gambling money in cryptos instead
@bighitter yeah I've definitely deposited more than 5 grand there this year so far. I don't usually like adding up my deposits as it's scary but after checking it's about 5,400. This is just one of several casinos I use, too 🙁
I did bite the bullet and send those payslips in the end - through gritted teeth though.
And about 20% more this year - Crazy when i add it all up and think about it.
