We’ve already seen a long list of winners in the Global Gaming Awards 2023 London event. Now its time to turn our attention to Asia-Pacific, a market where we cover online casinos and software providers from Australia, New Zealand, and India.
Although this event is well thought out, it is not as prestigious as the London version, but a decent indicator of which gambling entertainment brands are kicking ass in this region.
In effect, we don’t know much about half of the Asia-Pacific gambling zone simply because many Southeast Asian countries, as well as China, have black market online casinos and sports books. This is mostly because these countries do not allow online gambling or have strict qualification rules making legitimate sites difficult to access.
Nonetheless, there is a huge online gambling market there, and what’s more, in countries where sports betting, casinos and other forms of gambling are not available, there’s plenty going on with the land-based casino scene. As you will see below, there are awards for operators, B2B game suppliers as well as brick-and-mortar establishments.
When was the event? The event took place on 29 May at 10:00 am GMT, which in Asia was around early and mid-to-late evening. As mentioned, this was a virtual event, but maybe we’ll see a physical soon as this year’s Global Gaming Awards Asia-Pacific 2023.

- IGT: Well-known UK land-based slot provider and global online casino game developer)
- Aristocrat Gaming: Australian online pokies and land-based game developer, which recently purchased NeoGames.
The stand-out brand: Light & Wonder was light years ahead in this event taking home x1 winner’s award and x2 runner-up awards. The NASDAQ company recently rebranded from Scientific Games to L&W and has since spread its new brand name successfully across multiple continents.
