1942: Sky Warrior Gameplay – Bombs Away!
On the 5×4 reel set, royal symbols and pilots can lead to both bigger and smaller wins over the 10 pay lines. The Wild feature will potentially lead to bigger gains, by removing certain lower symbol types, and upgrading others. But it is in the free spins feature where the biggest wins can come. Land the scatters to guarantee at least 10 free spins. Here a wild will land on every spin and it is possible to eliminate lower paying symbols and permanently upgrading higher paying symbols, as well as the chance to gain additional spins.
All Features on Red Tiger’s, 1942: Sky Warrior
- ‘A’ Scatter: Landing 3 will trigger the Warrior Free Spins bonus feature. Will award additional spins when landing a further 3 on the same spin during the feature. Can only appear on reels 1, 3, and 5.
- Sky Warrior Free Spins Feature: A minimum 10 free spins bonus feature with possible additional spins, and Wilds on every spin.
- Wild: Will substitute for all paying symbols, and can eliminate lower valued symbols, and upgrade higher valued symbols.
Wild Feature
During the base game, if a Wild participates with a lower-valued symbol, then all of that symbol type will be bombed off the reel set for that spin. A cascade will then take place and new symbols will replace the removed symbols. It is possible for the Wild to participate in another win after the cascade, and so the feature will repeat itself should that be the case. If a Wild participates with a higher valued pilot symbol, then that symbol will be upgraded in value for that spin.
Sky Warrior Free Spins Feature
Trigger the Sky Warrior Free Spins feature by landing an ‘A’ scatter symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5. You will begin the round with 10 free spins. At the top of the reel set, the lower valued symbols will be listed on the left-hand side, and the higher valued pilot symbols will have a place on the right-hand side.
Wilds will land on every spin. If a Wild lands and participates in a win, then the Wild feature will occur. However, if the Wild participates with a lower-valued symbol, then that symbol will be eliminated and not appear again for the remainder of the bonus round. If the Wild participates in a win with a pilot symbol, then that symbol will be upgraded for the remainder of the bonus round.

Rounding Up 1942: Sky Warrior – The Sky is the Limit!
Red Tiger has something quite unique here with a World War Two themed aviation title. WW2 enthusiasts are guaranteed to enjoy this game, as it just carries the theme so well. The animations are great, with authentic-looking character symbols, but in particular the backdrop of the bombers and it’s pretty awesome when the Wild feature kicks in and you see the Bomber fly over the reel set and destroy the symbols.
In terms of gameplay, the bonus feature is excellent with the upgraded symbols and the lower valued symbol eliminator chance. We would have liked to have seen a buy feature option, as it would have been great to get the opportunity to enjoy such an epic free spin bonus round more often. So overall we are big fans of this title and someone with worse puns than us might even say that ‘it’s the bomb!’.
