EGR Italy 2022 Awards Shortlists Are Out! What are your predictions for the winners?

The season for awards just keeps on coming. After the SBC 2022 awards saw the big guns in iGaming take down numerous awards, it is time for Italy’s online gambling scene to take some of the limelight.

On 26 August the EGR Italy 2022 awards ceremony final nominee submissions were in, and from there, the wait for the official shortlists was then on.

• Services Category—8 Awards
• Operators Category—8 Awards
• General Category—3 Awards
• Affiliates Category—1 Award

Just yesterday, the official EGR website produced the full shortlist of nominees across 4 categories. Overall, there are 20 awards up for grabs.

The awards event will take place on 20 October, so we have 26 days to go and 27 days for the winners’ list to be published on the iGaming news circuit. As for the location, the event is in Rome Cavalieri, Italy.

Why cover the Italian iGaming awards? Big-name software providers operating across Europe, North America, and other continents are in the running. Many of these brands we are familiar with as they also operate under UKGC, MGA and/or CEG licencing, and to spread their market reach, these online casino brands also operate in the Italian iGaming market under the country’s domestic AAMS licencing framework.

Noteworthy Award Contender – iSoftbet, Wazdan, Playtech & more – who will win?

• Playtech (3 Awards): The brand is up for the ‘Software Supplier’, ‘Casino Platform Supplier’, and ‘Casino Content Supplier’ in the ‘Services’ category. Playtech also won the ‘Platform Provider of the Year’ award as well as picked up silver for the best ‘Live Casino Supplier’ at the SBC 2022 awards.
• Wazdan (1 Award): Its impressive ‘Hold the Jackpot’ fixed jackpot titles, pay anywhere slots, Cash Infinity™, Collect to Infinity™, Volatility Levels™, and Ultra Lite Mode tech has made the brand one of the most sought after by slot players globally. The Wazdan software provider is also firmly planted as a video slot game supplier in Italy and as such the brand is deceivably up for the ‘Casino Content Supplier’ of the year award in the ‘Services’ category. • Yggdrasil (1 Award): Yggdrasil is another software provider regularly winning awards and making award shortlists. In the EGR Italy 2022 event, the brand will be looking to take down the ‘Casino Platform Supplier’ honours.
• Pragmatic Play (1 Award): In the SBC 2022 event this month, Pragmatic Play walked away with the ‘Virtual Sports Innovation’ award this month as well as the EGR B2B 2022 ‘Casino Software Supplier of the Year’ and EGR B2B 2022 ‘Bingo Supplier of the Year’. In 2022, the brand has landed a haul of 15+ iGaming awards. In the EGR Italy event, the developer is looking to add to that total by winning the ‘Casino Content Supplier’ award in the ‘Suppliers’ category.
• Betsoft Gaming (1 Award): If you enjoy playing standalone jackpot slots, cinematic gameplay with plenty of animated effects and tons of features, the BetSoft is one of the best in the business. The brand is also contesting the ‘Casino Content Supplier’ award in the ‘Suppliers’ category, along with Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil, Wazdan and more big brand names.
• LeoVegas (3 Awards):: The operator is competing for 3 awards in Italy. Its Italian-based platform is one of the best in the country, and of course,  LeoVegas is one of the best online casinos in iGaming just about anywhere it has a license to operate online gambling services.
