Like a boxing heavyweight becoming an undisputed champion and holding on his belts, Playtech has gone and won double back-to-back awards at the 2022 EGR Italy Awards. The UKGC licenced and London Stock Exchange listed brand has won the same two awards it took down at the previous event twelve months earlier.
As for other big winners at the 2022 EGR Italy Awards which took place on October 20 at the Rome Cavalieri in Italy, Gameburger Studios and the perpetual award winner Evolution were among the bigger iGaming brands.
Running since 2014, the EGR Italy Awards celebrates the operators, suppliers, and affiliates that have shone in the Italian iGaming market across the last twelve months. It shines a light on those that have performed the best in their respective categories in one of Europe’s core online gambling markets.
This year, some of most prominent brands in the iGaming industry competed for 20 award categories. The likes of LeoVegas, the Betsson Group, and Sisal duked it out for top operator awards. Massive names such as Pragmatic Play, Wazdan, iSoftBet, Evolution, Stakelogic, Amusnet Interactive, Yggdrasil, and Playtech were also nominated for awards in the supplier categories. There were also companies competing for awards in payments, affiliates, sports betting, virtual sports, and marketing.
Playtech Takes Home 2 Prestigious 2022 EGR Italy Awards
Playtech, one of the best known iGaming solution providers that is available at many leading online casinos in the UK, across Europe, and around the world, took home two of the main awards of the night. The firm was awarded the ‘Software Supplier of the Year’ and the ‘Casino Platform Supplier of the Year’. Amazingly, the firm won those two same awards at the 2021 EGR Italy Awards. They also follow the four awards including the ‘Slot Provider of the Year’ the iGaming giant picked up at the EGR B2B Awards this year.
Both categories were keenly contested. Playtech was up against Booming Games, Flows, Gameart, Octavian Lab, Spribe and WorldMatch in the Software Supplier Category. Firms also in the hunt for the Casino Platform Supplier were Capecod Solutions, Fils Game, iSoftBet, and Yggdrasil.
Evolution Wins Yet Another Industry Award
The awards continue to come thick and fast for Evolution, a live casino brand that also owns leading virtual game developers including NetEnt, Red Tiger Gaming, Big Time Gaming, and NoLimit City. Following on from taking major scalps such as the ‘Online Casino Supplier of the Year’ at the 2022 Global Gaming Awards and ‘Live Casino Supplier of the Year’ at the 2022 SBC Awards, Evolution has added another big award at the 2022 EGR Italy Awards.
This time, the iGaming giant scooped the ‘Casino Content Supplier of the Year’. As you will see from our report on the announced shortlists for this event, Evolution was up against a large number of respected brands for that award. There were 15 company’s shortlisted including Amusnet Interactive, Booming Games, Habanero, Inspired Entertainment, iSoftBet, Playson, Pragmatic Play, Skywind Group, Stakelogic, and Wazdan.
A Special Mention: Gameburger Studios took home the 2022 Rising Star of the Year against competition including Stakelogic Live, SpinPlay Games, and Alchemy Gaming.
