Playtech is ramping up the anticipation for the release of three (yes, three) versions of its Who Wants to be a Millionaire live casino game, by offering a share of 1m Golden Chips to participants of a live trivia show!

Fans of live casino games or the world-famous television show itself can help to click down the clock of the impending release of Who Wants to be a Millionaire Live by taking part in one of 75 upcoming live WWTBAM trivia quizzes hosted by Playtech.

The leading iGaming development firm, who released Twister Bingo, a progressive jackpot bingo game just last week, agreed on a deal with Sony Pictures Television in February which gave them the rights to produce a live casino variation of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Via the leading iGaming developers YouTube channel, Playtech revealed that between June 11 and July 11 this year, the firm will host 75 trivia quizzes utilising the prized format used on the television quiz show. Free to enter, each quiz will involve 15 questions while contestants can rely on two of the famous lifelines, ‘Ask the Audience’ and ‘Fifty-Fifty’ to help them out when needed. Football, general sports, and general knowledge are the subjects covered by the questions.

Anyone taking part must answer the question before the timer runs out, and only those that guessed correctly will move on to the next question. All those smart (or lucky) enough to make it through all 15 questions will split 1 million Golden Chips!

At this point, it is not clear what players can do with the Golden Chips. Whether they can be exchanged for spins on the upcoming Who Wants to be a Millionaire live games or if they serve another purpose, is beyond us at this moment in time. Guess we will all just have to wait and see!

What to Expect from the Who Wants to be a Millionaire Live Games from Playtech

Playtech has so far managed to keep almost everything under wraps, and we know just as much about the three versions the firm plans to release as we do about the Golden Chips. However, one thing is certain, the live casino games will be produced to a high standard, will prove hugely popular, and will challenge some of the other popular live game shows currently on the market.

Why? Because Playtech, one of the largest providers of live casino titles, has already shown it knows hows to develop top quality live gameshows. You just have to look at Adventures Beyond Wonderland, a live gameshow considered among the top three in terms of popularity right now. If the firm continues in the same vein with WWTBAM, Playtech would cement its position as the main live game show competitor of Evolution.

This will not be the first time Who Wants to be a Millionaire has been converted into an online casino game. Big Time Gaming released Who Wants to be a Millionaire Megaways in 2018, a video slot featuring the iconic Megaways reel mechanic, and a top payout of 50,000x your stake.
